Miscellaneous
Soldering Information
The PKV Series DC/DC converters are intended for through
hole mounting on a PCB. When wave soldering is used max
temperature on the pins are specified to 230°C for 10 seconds.
Maximum preheat rate of 2°C/s is suggested. When hand
soldering is used a thermocouple needs to be mounted on the
DC/DC converter pins to verify that pin temperatures does not
exceed 300°C for longer time than 10 seconds with the used
soldering tools.
No-clean flux is recommended to avoid entrapment of cleaning
fluids in cavities inside of the DC/DC power module. The
residues may affect long time reliability and isolation voltage.

According to MIL-HDBK-217F the calculated MTBF
value at 100% load (from PKV 5211 PI) at the following
ambient temperatures will be approx.:

15–20 °C higher than the ambient temperature.

strategy. Infant mor tal i ty or early fail ures in the products
are screened out by a burn-in pro ce dure.
Warranty
Ericsson Power Modules war rants to the original pur chas er
or end user that the product con form to this Data Sheet
and are free from ma te ri al and work man ship defects for
a period of fi ve (5) years from the date of man u fac ture, if
the prod uct is used within specifi ed con di tions and not
opened. In case the prod uct is dis con tin ued, claims will
be ac cept ed up to three (3) years from the date of the
discontinuation. For additional details on this limited
warranty we refer to Ericsson Power Modules “Gen er al
Terms and Con di tions of Sales”, or in di vid u al con tract
documents.
