Getting Networked
The Viewstream 500 can be used for REMOTE NETWORKING opportunities, where play-
lists and video can be updated either over a local area network, or the internet. To ac-
cess REMOTE NETWORKING functionality, a VS-500 must either be upgraded with the
DV-SYNC software, or alternatively customers can purchase the pre-configured RP-500
(Remote Player 500).
DV-SYNC:
Allows users to create a simple FTP location on any accessible server (either internal net-
work or online) through which to update and control the content and media on an RP-500.
Using the DV-SYNC network protocol, a user sets parameters on the RP-500 that direct
it to access a specific folder at the FTP location. Content playlists and schedules are cre-
ated in the normal way (using DV-Studio) and the files then simply uploaded to the relevant
folder on the FTP server.
The RP-500 can be set to contact the FTP server as often as required - downloading con-
tent and sending back playout compliance data from the field. This basic systems offers
FREE remote content upload, scheduling and field data compliance reporting.
DV-SYNC is ideal for smaller digital signage networks, and for those running within an
internal network infrastructure.
For more complex requirements - Digital View works in
partnership with Delivering Digital Ltd, a specialist manager of large scale content manage-
ment systems (CMS).
BEN :
This is the ONLINE HOSTED CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM from Delivering Digital
Ltd. It offers a cost effective on-line mechanism for large scale digital signage network
management. The system provides for multiple levels of control for scheduling, content
groups, field data reporting, content library management, template content creation, local
playlist creation and a whole host of bolt-on customizable applications for clients. The BEN
system is hosted on central servers operated by the Delivering Digital team. Delivering
Digital offer a completely managed service, with dedicated support and bandwidth man-
agement.
The BEN system can be branded to any customer - and integrated with a range of 3rd party
applications. It is the ideal management system for multiple client digital signage and digital
out-of-home networks.
DV-SYNC API:
Digital View further offers a full control API for the DV-SYNC protocol, that allows customers
to enhance and develop their own more complex content management systems.
