Mat Grounding
It is recommended to connect the mat wire (10mm snap) from
the monitor and the mat ground wire (10mm snap) to two
separate points on the bench mat as shown in Figure 4.

insert the modular plugs into the appropriate jacks on the
rear of the unit. (See Figure 2)
rear of the unit. Route the wire from the supply to a nearby
AC outlet and plug the power adapter into the outlet. Make
sure the voltage and frequency match those listed on the
AC adapter. The monitor should now be powered.
10mm snap needs to pierce
and clinch bottom side of
mat. Snap needs to be at
least 12" apart or 72" max.

Figure 5. Connecting wrist straps to the operator remote
NOTE: The operator remote has two jacks. One is a 3.5 mm
mono jack for use with a dual wire wrist strap. A dual wire
wrist strap plugged into this jack will be monitored. The other
jack is a grounded banana jack for use with carts, equipment,
or other grounding applications. This grounded point is not
monitored.
Status Indicators
The audible alarm for Operator 1 and Ground 1 is continuous.
The audible alarm for Operator 2 and Ground 2 is a repetitive
beep. If a fault condition exists for both operators and/or both
grounds, the alarm will sound continuously. The alarm volume
may be adjusted with the potentiometer on the rear of the unit
(see Figure 2).

Operation
Wrist Strap Connections
Once all the connections described above have been made
and the unit has been powered up, the unit is ready for
opera tion. Install operator wrist straps and ground wires. Dual
snaps on the operator ground wires attach to the wristband
snaps and the mono plug on the other end inserts into the
operator remote as illustrated in Figure 5. The opera tor’s
monitoring is in “STANDBY” mode until the operator’s ground
wire is plugged into the remote jack for that station.
Green LED indicates good wrist cord and operator
resistance between 1.9 Meg Ohms and 10 Meg Ohms
to monitored ground.
Red LED indicates resistance higher than 10 Meg Ohms
between operator and monitored ground followed by a
continuous alarm for OPERATOR 1 and a repetitive alarm
for OPERATOR 2.
Yellow LED blinking indicates stand-by mode, no operator connected.
Yellow LED non- blinking indicates resistance lower than 1.9Meg Ohms
between operator and monitored ground
Red LED indicates resistance is higher than
3.5 Meg Ohms from ground through work
surface or open connection to ground.
GROUND 1 will continuously alarm and
GROUND 2 will repetitvely alarm.
Green LED indicates good work surface
resistance to hard ground connection.
