The SAR150 is designed for a single +5 volt supply. The device has four pins for power connection: V
and AV
close as possible to the device. The same rule applies to V
the two supplies is essential to prevent internal latch-up conditions.
An external decoupling capacitor is needed for the power supply. This should be a low ESR 100nF capacitor
connected on the printed circuit board as close as possible to the V
decoupling capacitor between REFV (pin 4) and V
The SAR150 has a supply voltage surveillance circuit which sets the Status Register flag PRNG_OK to „1‟ only if AV
is within specified range. If outside this range, the PRNG_OK flag is set to „0‟.
