Error Flag
A non-existent device address was specified in
buffer memory for the “transmitting device address”
or “receiving device address.”
The timeout monitor time is too short.
The delimiter settings for the transmitting device
and receiving device are not the same.
The peer device is not sending and receiving data. Make sure the peer device is able to send and
The communications cable is not connected prop-
erly.
The communications peer device cannot be found. Check the other device’s power supply.
A transmission error occurred because of noise in
the system.
The GP-IB Interface Unit is operating in Slave
mode and the enhanced BASIC commands func-
tion is enabled, but the received data was not an
enhanced BASIC command.
The received data contained data that was not
ASCII.
Probable cause
Set the addresses correctly.
Set a longer timeout monitor time in the allocated
DM area words or Buffer Memory. (Restart the PLC
after changing the setting.)
If settings in the allocated DM Area words are
being used, either turn the power supply to the PLC
OFF and then back ON or reset the Unit.
Set the same delimiter setting in the allocated DM
area words or Buffer Memory (transmitting device
or receiving device) that is set in the other device.
If settings in the allocated DM Area words are
being used, either turn the power supply to the PLC
OFF and then back ON or reset the Unit.
receive data.
When the GP-IB Interface Unit is the receiving
device, it cannot receive the next data, unless the
IORD(222) instruction is executed after the Data
Reception Flag turns ON. This may result in the
peer device also detecting a timeout error. Always
executed IORD(222) immediately after the Data
Reception Flag turns ON.
Check the connecting cable to the other device.
Check whether the connectors are damaged or
attached incorrectly.
Check whether there are two or more Controllers in
the system.
Change cable routes or reduce noise in the envi-
ronment.
Disable the enhanced BASIC commands function
in the allocated DM area words by setting bits 08 to
15 of m+1 to “00”.
If settings in the allocated DM Area words are
being used, either turn the power supply to the PLC
OFF and then back ON or reset the Unit.
Check the transmitting device and verify that the
BASIC commands are being sent properly.
Check the transmitting device and verify that ASCII
data is being sent properly.
