Regardless of color, material, or shape of objects area reflec-
tive type sensor can detect white or black objects at the same
distance. In case of diffuse reflective types, which cannot al-
ways detect objects of various color with the same sensitiv-
ity setting, the MQ-W area reflective type sensor is a worthy
substitute.

Area reflective type sensors do not detect objects beyond the
set range.
◾
Area reflective type sensors detect the distance by the an-
gle, not the intensity of received light. Even if the lens surface
is soiled by dust or powdery material, there is little variation in
sensing range.
