Great things really do come in small packages! This
ultra compact in–wall speaker system is designed to
virtually disappear in any room. A rugged 2" full range
driver is mounted in an attractive rectangular faceplate
that is the same size as a standard wall switch. In fact,
this unit actually mounts in a single gang electrical box
or low voltage bracket (both sold separately). When
used alone, it is perfect for voice reproduction in public
areas, on kiosks or retail displays. It is perfectly suitable
to mount these speakers at wall switch or AC outlet
height.
As mentioned above, this speaker mounts exactly the
same as any single gang electrical device. It may be
mounted in an electrical box or low voltage bracket.
Note: As this is considered a low voltage device, this
unit may not be mounted in the same electrical box as
AC powered devices. Additionally, when routing
speaker wire, it may not pass through the same hole in
studs as AC wiring.
Attached to the rear of the speaker are two conductors
of 22AWG speaker wire. Note that the (–) lead
connects directly to the speaker. The (+) lead connects
to the capacitor. When installing multiple speakers in a
distributed sound system, it is important to keep the
+/– wiring consistent to keep the speakers in phase.
This will ensure proper imaging and maximum low
frequency response.

Overview
For home theater and music applications, a subwoofer
is required, as the low frequency response of this unit
drops substantially below 300Hz.
This speaker comes equipped with an attached 66µF
filter capacitor, which prevents frequencies below
300Hz from reaching the speaker. It is important not to
remove this capacitor, as distortion will be created with
this speaker attempts to reproduce low frequencies.
With this capacitor in place, the overall power capacity
of the speaker is greatly increased.
Additionally, running speaker wire and AC wire in a
parallel arrangement over long lengths should be
avoided. If AC wiring and speaker wiring must cross
paths, it is best if they cross at 90 degree angles to
each other, thus keeping the contact area between the
two at a minimum. These practices are important
when keeping potentially induced noise at a minimum.
Only properly rated CL2 or CL3 in–wall speaker wire
should be used in these applications. It is
recommended that at least 16AWG wire be used with
this product. Additionally, local codes may exist
regarding such installations. It is the responsibility of
the installer to be aware of said codes when installing
this equipment.
