Description:
A wristband, a coiled cord and a crocodile clip make up a wrist strap. It is the most used device
to ground personnel.
FEC Part No 3547735 wrist band colour is red with a black 2m coiled cord with a 10mm socket one
end and a 4mm banana plug at the other.
FEC Part No 3547747 wrist band and cord are both yellow.

Socket end contains a 1 meg ± 5% resistor rated at ¼ w and able to withstand a DC tension of 500 v
for over 2 minutes.
Instructions for use
The wrist strap is designed to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to electronic components.
A snug fit is necessary to ensure you are soundly connected. Connect the clip end to an earthed object
or the chassis of the equipment. You are now at the same electrical potential as the equipment. Only now
should you remove the sensitive component from its housing or from its protective packaging.
Wash with lukewarm water and mild soap or detergent. Do not use bleach.
Caution
Use for ESD control purposes only. Do not shorten the strap or tamper with it in any other way. Do
not use in areas where electric power exceeds 250 Volts. Wear the wrist strap before removing
components from their protective packaging.
