... Arduino™ Duemilanove Compatible Development Board Overview The MC-NOVE is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328 (datasheet). It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started ...

... SRAM and EEPROM (which can be read and written with the EEPROM library). Input and Output Each of the 14 digital pins on the MC-NOVE can be used as an input or output, using pinMode(), digitalWrite(), and digitalRead() functions. They operate at 5 volts. Each pin can provide or receive a maximum and has an internal pull-up resistor (disconnected by default) of 20-50 kOhms. In addition, some pins have specialized functions: • ...

... Automatic (Software) Reset Rather than requiring a physical press of the reset button before an upload, the MC-NOVE is designed in a way that allows reset by software running on a connected computer. One of the hardware flow control lines (DTR) of the FT232RL is connected to the reset line of the ATmega328 via a 100 nanofarad capacitor. When this line is asserted (taken low), the reset line drops long enough to reset the chip. The Arduino™ ...
