Epoxy Termination Accessories
The following accessory items may be added to enhance typical epoxy termination
kits available from a number of fiber optic distributors in the industry. These 3M items
are designed to optimize the termination of 3M epoxy connectors to meet Telcordia
TR-326-CORE specifications.
The soft polishing pad, polishing jig and 3M lapping films optimize the fiber end face
finish for low light loss and low reflection in high speed laser systems.
The 8692 epoxy has been tested to Telcordia specifications to assure 3M connectors
meet the most stringent environmental requirements.
The syringe with the proper FP-25DT epoxy dispensing tip is important to deliver
epoxy into the connector ceramic ferrule without epoxy bleed back that might foul
the coupling mechanism.
The 8366 and 8367 conversion kits include an angle polishing jig and additional
3M lapping film to complete the 3M SC and FC / APC angle connectors to meet
–65 dB reflection with a field hand polish.
