Address Latch Enable (Multiplexed): An active high
enable signal generated by the microprocessor. The fall-
ing transition is used to store an address during a read/
write bus cycle.
Write (Intel/Multiplexed): Intel/Multiplexed - An active
low signal generated by the microprocessor for writing to
the M13E register locations. Motorola - not used.
Ready (Intel) or Data Transfer Acknowledge (Motor-
ola): Intel - The M13E is always ready. Connection to an
Intel microprocessor is optional. If connected, a pull-up
resistor is required. Motorola - During a read bus cycle, a
low signal indicates the information on the data bus is
valid. During a write bus cycle, a low signal acknowl-
edges the acceptance of data. A pull-up resistor is
required for this pin.
Microprocessor Interface Type Select: The type of
microprocessor interface selected by these two bits is
given in the table below:
The multiplexed interface consists of eight bidirectional
address/data leads, select, address latch enable, read,
and write.
The Intel compatible interface (80X86 family) consists of
eight address leads, eight bidirectional data leads, select,
read, write, and ready.
The Motorola compatible interface (680X0 family) con-
sists of eight address leads, eight bidirectional data
leads, select, read/write, and data transfer acknowledge.
