High-frequency noise in the V
affect the comparator in the ADC. Bypass the supply to
the star ground with a 0.1µF capacitor close to the V
pin of the MAX1117/MAX1118/MAX1119. Minimize
capacitor lead lengths for best supply-noise rejection. If
the power supply is noisy, a 1µF capacitor in conjunc-
tion with a 10Ω series resistor can be connected to
form a lowpass filter.
