Synchronous Protocol
Communication with Atmel
Atmel AT24Cxxx Serial EEPROM devices using a two-wire protocol (TWI). Basic command structure and timing are the
same however a significant difference exists when reading the CryptoMemory device that will be described below.
Start-up Sequence
When first powering up the device, five pulses are required on CLK-SCL for reading of internal registers. This may be
accomplished by sending one full command byte to the device. The device will not respond but will then be ready to
respond to the next correct command sequence.

• External pull-up resistor pulls I/O-SDA high with V
