NOTE!
The Data Shield by Tripp Lite Network Dataline Surge Suppressor must be properly grounded and positioned as close
as possible to the equipment to be protected. For best results, it is required that the length of the signal line and ground
wire (if equipped) between the surge suppressor and the protected equipment be kept as short as possible, not to
exceed 12 inches (12”). It is best to install the surge suppressor directly to the equipment, as noted above.
NOTE!
Installing a typical Data Shield by Tripp Lite Network Dataline Surge Suppressor is equivalent to adding
approximately three feet (3’) of typical data communication cable to a segment.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION!
CAUTION!
CAUTION!
The Data Shield by Tripp Lite Network Dataline Surge
Suppressor does not protect the equipment on the opposite end
of the cable. Normally, protection at both ends is recommended.
Use of this equipment in life support applications where failure
of this equipment can reasonably be expected to cause the
failure of the life support equipment or to significantly affect its
safety or effectiveness is not recommended. Do not use this
equipment in the presence of a flammable anesthetic mixture
with air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.
When properly installed, the Data Shield by Tripp Lite Network
Dataline Surge Suppressor will only protect against surges on
the dataline portion of your installation. Simultaneous AC surge
suppression/power protection in the form of an ISOBAR
suppressor or Tripp Lite UPS system is strongly recommended
for complete system/network protection and can also extend
Ultimate Lifetime Insurance coverage to connected equipment.
