7. Allow the handles to open fully, and remove the
crimped terminal or splice.
8. For a splice, reposition the uncrimped insulation
barrel in the stationary die. If the splice cannot be
turned, turn the tool. Close the handles until the
splice is held firmly in place, insert the stripped
wire, and complete the crimp.

4. INSULATION CRIMP ADJUSTMENT
4.1. PIDG Terminals and Splices, PIDG STRATO- THERM
Terminals, and DIAMOND GRIP Terminals and Splices
The insulation barrel crimping section of the moving
die has three crimp positions: 1--Tight, 2--Medium,
3--Loose. Adjust the insulation crimp as follows:
NOTE
1. Turn both insulation crimp adjustment spacers
so that they fit into the notch in the side of the die.
See Figure 1. This is Position 3 or loose crimp
position.
