An M24LR16E-R can be in one of four states:
Transitions between these states are specified in
Power-off state
The M24LR16E-R is in the Power-off state when it does not receive enough energy from the
VCD.
Ready state
The M24LR16E-R is in the Ready state when it receives enough energy from the VCD.
When in the Ready state, the M24LR16E-R answers any request where the Select_flag is
not set.
Quiet state
When in the Quiet state, the M24LR16E-R answers any request except for Inventory
requests with the Address_flag set.
Selected state
In the Selected state, the M24LR16E-R answers any request in all modes (see
Power-off
Ready
Quiet
Selected
Request in Select mode with the Select_flag set
Request in Addressed mode if the UID matches
Request in Non-Addressed mode as it is the mode for general requests
