This guide describes how to program the SED1355 Embedded RAMDAC LCD/CRT Controller.
The guide presents the basic concepts of the LCD/CRT controller and provides methods to directly
program the registers. It explains some of the advanced techniques used and the special features of
the SED1355.
The guide also introduces the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), which is designed to simplify the
programming of the SED1355. Most SED135x, SED137x and SED138x products support the HAL
allowing OEMs to switch chips with relative ease.
