The High-Speed Synchronous Serial Interface

microcontrollers, microprocessors or external
peripherals.
The SSC supports full-duplex and half-duplex
synchronous communication; The serial clock
signal can be generated by the SSC itself (master
mode) or be received from an external master
(slave mode). Data width, shift direction, clock
polarity and phase are programmable. This allows

signal. The serial channel SSC has its own
dedicated 16-bit Baud rate generator with 16-bit
reload capability, allowing Baud rate generation
independent from the timers.
SSCBR is the dual-function Baud Rate Generator/
Reload register. Table 11 lists some possible
Baud rates against the required reload values and
the resulting bit times for a 25MHz CPU clock.
