The HCS515 is a low cost integrated K
in a convenient 14-pin package.
The decoder contains non-volatile memory (EEPROM)
to store the Serial Number and Synchronization Infor-
mation of up to seven transmitters. There is also an
additional 1 Kbit of User storage space.

The HCS515 can be used in “stand-alone mode”, con-
necting the S0:S1 outputs directly to system outputs, or
used in “co-processor mode” in conjunction with a
microcontroller when the CLOCK and DATA synchro-
nous communication lines are used.
The HCS515 decoder can be configured by the Evalu-
ation Kit software to perform Normal Learn or Secure
Learn operation using the Decrypt Algorithm as the Key
Generation algorithm.

S0:S3 – The outputs mirror the buttons pressed on a
learned transmitter.
LEARN OUT – The learn output gives the user feed-
back during a learn sequence. During normal operation
the LEARN LED flashes briefly whenever a K
transmission is received.
FUNC OK – The FUNC OK output is activated when
the received function code matches the function code
received when the decoder was learned
VLOW – The output is activated when the V
set in a transmission. A K
when the battery supply voltage drops below the prede-
termined threshold.
