Jitter Tolerance Test
The jitter tolerance test is performed by inserting various jitter levels at selected frequencies into the 2.048
Mbit/s line input of the QE1M, as shown in the table below and Figure 21. Data is looped back at the
SDH/SONET interface and dropped by the same QE1M device. The measured value is the maximum input jit-
ter that the QE1M can tolerate at its input without generating bit errors in the loopback path. Figure 22 is a plot
of the measured data listed in the table.
