1 WaveVision4 System
This User’s Guide primarily describes version 4.1 of the WaveVision Data Capture Board and its use.
However, reference is made to version 4 where it differs from version 4.1. Generically, the system is
referred to as “WaveVision4”, regardless of the version. Accordingly, wherever “WaveVision4” is
mentioned, it means both “WaveVision4” and “WaveVision4.1”, unless otherwise stated or implied.
1.1 What is the WaveVision4 System?
The WaveVision4 system is National Semiconductor’s platform for evaluating analog-to-digital and digital-
to-analog converters. It is composed of three core components:

only. Each ADC and DAC evaluation board comes with its own User’s Guide, which documents its
specific features.
