3.3 Launch the WaveVision4 Software.
Start the WaveVision4 software on your computer by selecting the desktop icon “WaveVision4” or by
clicking on the Start button, and selecting
Programs -> WaveVision -> WaveVision4
Once the WaveVision4 software is running;

The WaveVision4 system may be interfaced to ADC evaluation boards designed for older versions of the
WaveVision system and the WaveVision4 software may be used to interface to older versions of the
WaveVision Data Capture Board.

The WaveVision4 Data Capture Board may be used to capture data from most of the older WaveVision
system ADC evaluation boards (DUT boards). Those older boards that can be used with the WaveVision4
Data Capture Board are those that have a three-pin header to select whether clock source from the DUT
board or a divided clock from the older WaveVision 1/2/3 board is being used. When using these older
DUT boards with a WaveVision4 Data Capture Board, it is necessary to short together all three pins of the
clock select header. See the schematic in the DUT board Manual or User’s Guide to locate this header.
Upon running the WaveVision4 software, click on the “Settings” pull-down menu and, on the right side of
the open panel, click on “Configure as WaveVision3 compatible”, as shown in Figure 3(a). The
WaveVision4 system will measure the clock frequency from the DUT board and report it as indicated in
Figure 3(b)
