11.4. Filtering
11.4.1. Filter types
There are 2 different filtering types:
1. Average filtering.
2. Moving average filtering.
The average filtering is an addition of n values divided by n, this kind of filter is useful when having a very noisy signal; the
maximum average value is 256.
Advantage: Reduces noise due to the high quantity of samples.
Disadvantage: Takes the acquisition time of n samples to have a result.
The sliding window averaging is a filter that takes the n last measurements and gives the mean value of them.
Important note:
11.4.2. Configuration register - filtering
This register is present in each configuration; the bits 4 to 6 are controlling the filtering mode.
The table below shows the filter selection.
