Phase B consists of two functional parts that represent two phases:
• Phase I: Establish a serial connection and automatically synchronize to the transfer
• Phase II: Perform the serial communication with the host. The host controls the

The serial communication, which is activated in phase II, is performed with the full-duplex
serial interface (UART) of the C868. The MCU is connected to the serial port of the host
via a serial cable (RS232).
The serial transfer is working in asynchronous mode with the serial parameters 8N1
(eight data bits, no parity and one stop bit). The host can vary the baud rate in a wide
range because the MCU does an automatic synchronization with the host in phase I.
