The Selector Field is a 5-bit field identifying the type of
message to be sent via Auto-Negotiation. This field is
read only in the 82559 and contains a value of
00001b, IEEE Standard 802.3.
This bit reflects the PHY’s link partner’s Auto-
Negotiation ability.
This bit is used to indicate that the 82559’s PHY unit
has successfully received its link partner’s Auto-
Negotiation advertising ability.
