Cyclone III devices offer decompression, and remote system upgrade
features. Cyclone III devices can receive a compressed configuration
bitstream and decompress this data in real-time, reducing storage
requirements and configuration time. Data decompression is supported
in AS and PS configuration schemes. Data decompression is not
supported in AP, FPP nor in JTAG-based configuration schemes. You can
make real-time system upgrades from remote locations of your
Cyclone III designs with the remote system upgrade feature. Remote
update is supported in AS and AP configuration schemes.
