Software Flag Bits
The bits in each of these twelve registers are used largely as a “scratch pad” by CHIPS’ BIOS. To
a limited extent, these registers are also used as a medium of communication between CHIPS’
BIOS and CHIPS’ device drivers for various operating system environments.
