Any one of the six HDLC controllers may be assigned to ELIC0 Port1 (as an example)
in one of the 3 following ways only:
• The HDLC transmits in data upstream direction via DU01 line or
• The HDLC transmits in data downstream direction via DD01 line or
• The HDLC is not connected to ELIC0 Port1 at all.

ELIC1 CFI ports may be assigned as follows:
• All DD lines of ELIC1 are connected to DD lines of ELIC0 (DD10 with DD00, …) and
• The ELIC1 is not connected with ELIC0 at all.
The DSP is always connected with one port to ELIC0 Port0 and with its second port to
ELIC1 Port1. See also Figure 2-31. Both ELICs run with the same data and sync clocks.
