Flash memory bank switching
The MTD map driver allows the use of the various flash file systems provided in the
standard kernel (JFFS2, CRAMFS, etc.).
UART Driver
The LSP UART driver supports both the IXP2850 network processor internal serial port
and the additional two on-board UARTs (16C550).
The internal serial port is used as the primary Linux console.

• Secondary Linux console
• BMC (IPMI controller) communication
• Remove PC/ISA-related dependencies
• Support 32-bit access (hardware requirement)
• Provide a workaround for microengine performance throttling during on-board port
