As a master device the SBCX-X can program and control other devices attached to the
IOM-2 interface. The master mode is selected by default if the serial control interface
(SCI) is used by the host. The monitor data is written by the microprocessor in the MOX
register and transmitted via IOM-2 DD (DU) line to the programmed/controlled device
e.g. ARCOFI-BA PSB 2161 or IEC-Q TE PSB 21911. The transfer of the commands in
the MON channel is regulated by the handshake protocol mechanism with MX, MR
which is described in the previous chapter
If the transmitted command was a read command the slave device responds by sending
the requested data.
The data structure of the transmitted monitor message depends on the device which is
programmed. Therefore the first byte of the message is a specific address code which
contains in the higher nibble a MONITOR channel address to identify different devices.
The length of the messages depends on the accessed device and the type of MONITOR
command.
