The Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter
(UART) module is one of the serial I/O modules avail-
able in PIC32MX3XX/4XX family devices. The UART is
a full-duplex, asynchronous communication channel
that communicates with peripheral devices and per-
sonal computers through protocols such as RS-232,
RS-485, LIN 1.2 and IrDA
the hardware flow control option, with UxCTS and
UxRTS pins, and also includes the IrDA encoder and
decoder.
