The Z8 Encore! XP F1680 Series product supports a maximum of 37 port pins 
(Ports A–E) for general-purpose input/output (GPIO) operations. Each port contains
control and data registers. The GPIO control registers determine data direction,
open-drain, output drive current, programmable pull-ups, Stop Mode Recovery
functionality, and alternate pin functions. Each port pin is individually programmable. In
addition, the Port C pins are capable of direct LED drive at programmable drive strengths.
