Port 80h POST Codes
During the POST, the EFI BIOS generates diagnostic progress codes (POST-codes) to I/
O port 80h. If the POST fails, execution stops and the last POST code generated is left
at port 80h. This code is useful for determining the point where an error occurred.
Port 80h POST codes can be retrieved from IPMC with an OEM IPMI command. Refer to
Table 46, “Intel OEM commands (net function 0x30h)” on page
hang, Port 80h can be retrieved remotely from the chassis management module.
Table 69
POST codes are also displayed on the serial console and provide information on the
boot progress.
