Temperature Sensor
120MHz RC Oscillator (RC120M)
Interrupt or reset generation
Factory calibration
By default, the SM33 operates in “sampling” mode during DeepStop and Static mode and in
continuous mode for other sleep modes. Sampling mode can also be forced during sleep modes
other than DeepStop and Static and during normal operation by writing a one to the Force Sam-
pling Mode bit in the SM33 register (SM33.FS).
The user can select the sampling frequency by writing to the Sampling Frequency field in SM33
(SM33.SAMPFREQ). The sampling mode uses the 32 kHz RC oscillator (RC32K) as a clock.
The 32kHz RC oscillator is enabled automatically when SM33 operates in sampling mode.
The SM33 can be configured to generate an interrupt instead of a reset when VDDIN drops
below the SM33 threshold.
Interrupt generation is selected by write a one to the SM33.CTRL field. The SM33DET bit in the
SCIF interrupt mask register (SCIF.IMR) must then be set to one by writing a one to the
SM33DET bit of the SCIF interrupt enable register (SCIF.IER).
After a Power-On-Reset (POR/POR33) the SM33.CALIB field is loaded with a factory defined
value stored in the Flash fuses. This value is chosen so that the nominal threshold value is
1.75V.
Please refer to the Fuse setting chapter for more details about SM33 fuses and how to program
the fuses.
Although it is not recommended to override default factory settings, it is still possible to override
these default values by writing to SM33.CALIB or altering the values for the SM33 flash fuses.
If the Flash Calibration Done (SM33.FCD) bit is zero at any reset except for POR and POR33,
then the flash calibration will be redone and the SM33.FCD bit will be set before program execu-
tion starts in the CPU. If the SM33.FCD is one the calibration will not be changed during a reset.
Rev: 1.0.0.0
The Temperature Sensor is connected to an ADC channel, please refer to the ADC chapter for
details. It is enabled by writing one to the Enable bit (EN) in the Temperature Sensor Configura-
tion Register (TSENS). The Temperature Sensor can not be calibrated.
Please refer to the Electrical Characteristics chapter for more details.
Rev: 1.0.1.0
The 120MHz RC Oscillator can be used for the main clock in the device, as described in the
Power Manager chapter. The oscillator can also be used as source for the generic clocks, as
described in Generic Clock section. The clock is enabled by writing a one to the Enable bit (EN)
in the 120 MHz RC Oscillator Configuration Register (RC120MCR) and disabled by writing a
zero to the RC120MCR.EN bit.
The oscillator is automatically disabled in certain sleep modes to reduce power consumption, as
described in the Power Manager chapter.
