3.28 OFD (Oscillation Frequency Detector)
3.28.1 Outline
The Oscillation Frequency Detector (OFD) generates a reset when the high-frequency
oscillation frequency (f
) falls or rises outside of the normal frequency range specified by
OSCH
the lower and higher detection frequency setting registers. When an abnormal frequency
condition is detected, it can be notified to the outside via the external pin (OFDOUTn). The
high-frequency clock (f
) is used as a detection clock, and the low-frequency clock (f
: 32
OSCH
s
KHz) is used as a reference clock of the OFD. If the 32 KHz reference clock stops due to an
external cause, etc., the OFD detects an abnormal condition and resets the internal circuitry.
Note: In the PCM mode, the OFD circuitry is not powered and is not operational. So stop the OFD operation
before the PCM execution.
